About San Diego Half Marathon: The San Diego Half Marathon
The San Diego Half Marathon is a premier race that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of San Diego, while raising money to help its communities.
The San Diego Half Marathon is doing business as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) with all net proceeds going towards community service projects and select charitable causes in San Diego. In addition to the funding, we hope to catalyze volunteerism as a way to help hurting communities throughout our city. The San Diego Half Marathon will also benefit additional
charities by enabling runners to raise money for any or all of the select causes that are important to them.
This Blog will collect selected Philanthropy News from San Diego and News about the AFP San Diego International Conference in 2013

VALLEY CENTER: Man plans to reboot philanthropy club
VALLEY CENTER: Man plans to reboot philanthropy club: They found that established service clubs were run by older men, and the officers were inevitably very older men, and that turns off a lot of people in the 20-30 age bracket," said Eric Burgess, 31, president of the San Diego chapter of the Active 20-30 Club.
Burgess was a member of an Active 20-30 Club in Santa Rosa, and many friends from that club urged him to start a San Diego County chapter after he moved to Valley Center. He has been recruiting people for the past year, and with 11 members already attending weekly meetings, the group is planning to become officially chartered at an Oct. 20 event planned at a Gaslamp District club.
